Planting Seeds for Success

Welcome

Has your child been impacted by the lockdowns and remote leaning? If you answered yes, then Tots to Teens Tutoring is the answer for you and your child! I specialise in one-on-one or small-group tuition and home-schooling, either online or in-person. Tots to Teens Tutoring focuses on delivering personalised instruction by getting to know your child's specific learning needs and tailoring a program designed just for them. I align all learning material with either the Victorian Curriculum or the Australian Curriculum, depending on your location, therefore giving you the peace of mind that my services are in harmony with your child’s school-based education. The focused attention in a one-on-one environment empowers both me and my students in a way that is not possible in the conventional classroom.

Whether your child requires additional support or extension, my sessions allow them to focus on their specific areas of interest or concern, while inspiring them to challenge their thinking to enable them to revise, consolidate or excel in their learning. As a highly experienced primary educator, I believe in a holistic approach to tutoring and education, working with both you and your child. I support goal setting and ongoing assessment to address individual student strengths and weaknesses, while also delivering feedback to both parents and students to build accountability, academic self-confidence and encourage motivation. Tots to Teens Tutoring aims to empower students to believe in themselves, strive to be their best and achieve their learning goals!

About Me

Primary Teacher

NOT - Copy_edited_edited.png

My teaching philosophy: My drive to pursue a profession as an educator was due in part to several of my childhood teachers who inspired and guided me to learn the skills necessary to accomplish my goals. I would be entirely grateful for my success and effectiveness as an educator if I became a catalyst for your child to pursue their own aspirations in life.

My name is Maddie and I have graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Primary). I am a dynamic and motivated registered Primary Teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (inclusive of a Working with Children clearance and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check). I have 10 years professional teaching experience in all primary year levels. I have taught at various Geelong and Bellarine primary schools and have also taught abroad in London where I also taught in pre-schools and secondary schools. I have extensive experience with modifying learning programs to extend high-achieving students and to support students with special needs and learning disabilities. Furthermore, I have engaged with evidence-based professional learning to further my theoretical understanding and I am committed to continue to remain abreast of best practice.

I have a passion for teaching and learning and endeavour to support and inspire my students to thrive and succeed. I design balanced, innovative and personalised programs that encourage students to make a positive impact on their school and local communities within the scope of current curriculum frameworks and educational models. I have a gentle, nurturing and compassionate nature and apply myself in a professional manner at all times. I have a thorough understanding of how to accommodate for various learning styles and how to engage young children in their education in an enjoyable, positive light.

I will conduct the Tots to Teens business honestly and ethically wherever I operate. I will constantly improve the quality of my services and operations and will create a reputation for honesty, fairness, respect, responsibility, integrity, and trust.

Child protection is a matter this is central to my training, awareness and understanding. Amongst other things, I will apply the following standards:

  • Services should be conducted in rooms where there are windows, so that a person outside the room can see into the room, or the door should be open so that the service can be viewed and heard. Furthermore, no child will be disciplined by me.

  • Services will only take place in a public part of the home with a parent or responsible adult present. Services will never take place in a child’s bedroom. At the end of each session that takes place within a child’s home, a responsible adult who was present in the home throughout the duration of the service, should acknowledge the service as having been conducted appropriately and in a public space.

  • Report all information accurately and honestly, and as otherwise required by applicable reporting requirements.
